Heather Dwyer, Age 17

The figures of a man and woman dancing are superimposed on the word “Bioterrorism.” The dancers appear as repetitive images that move across the surface of the canvas in varying sizes and complementary colors. The couples emerge from a fairly dark background as bright translucent figures floating on another level of reality. This superimposition suggests the dual nature of living in a world threatened by terrorism. Through dance, we join together in a pleasurable experience that helps us transcend our fears and enjoy a moment of beauty.
